Requirements:
We are looking for someone with an extensive technical background and solid evidence of database technologies such as Oracle RDBMS, Oracle running on Amazon EC2, Oracle running on Amazon RDS, and MongoDB. You should have experience in leading Oracle upgrades and patching on both RDS and EC2 instances, as well as MongoDB upgrades. A strong understanding of release processes and deployment cycles is essential, especially having deployed releases from test through to live. In-depth experience in the following areas is required:
1. Oracle Database Administration
2. Oracle Secure Backup
3. Oracle running on Amazon RDS
4. Oracle running on Amazon EC2
5. Oracle OEM 13c/19c
6. Oracle RMAN
7. AWS Cloudwatch
8. MongoDB
9. Unix/Linux, particularly shell scripting
10. PL/SQL
11. Active Data Guard
12. Terraform
13. Concourse
14. Ansible
15. JSON

Your responsibilities are:
As a Lead Database Infrastructure Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Defining, building, and operating both new and existing database technologies to meet various user needs.
2. Managing database configuration, maintaining system access and security, leading database upgrades, and ensuring that the latest patches are applied.
3. Proactively monitoring capacity and performance tuning using Oracle OEM to maintain service availability and identify issues before they occur.
4. Managing incidents, requests, changes, and problems while providing resolutions and conducting root cause analysis.
5. Maximizing the use of tools and technologies to drive continuous improvement and deliver operational excellence.
6. Mentoring team members and sharing knowledge through Show and Tell sessions to enhance the team's capabilities.
7. Coaching senior infrastructure engineers on best practices and ensuring their skills are up to date, while exploring innovative technologies.
You will be part of a small team that provides operational cover from 8:30 am to 5 pm, with additional responsibilities including participation in an on-call rota and occasional overtime.
