Staff Nurse - Cardiac Catheter Laboratory & Recovery
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Cardiac Catheter Lab / Cardiac Day Unit in the new Grange University Hospital. Cardiology is fortunate in having a dedicated Cardiac Catheter Suite.
We undertake a variety of procedures including Angiography, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Pacemakers and Complex devices, Implantable loop recorder, Cardioversions, Transoesophageal Echocardiogram(TOE), and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms(DSE).
In this role you will provide nursing care to patients undergoing Coronary Angiograms, PCI, Pacemakers (including defibrillators and heart failure devices), TOE and DSE.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Responsibilities:
1. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using the Nursing Process under the delegation of the Team Leader and without direct supervision.
2. To be accountable for own practice following an approved induction programme.
3. To effectively manage an allocated patient caseload delegated by the Team Leader.
4. To contribute to the clinical nursing care of all patients within the unit as required.
5. To implement care that is evidenced based in practice.
6. To contribute towards a multidisciplinary approach to service delivery.
7. To support a clinical environment that is patient and public focussed and encourages patient advocacy.
8. To acknowledge limitation of practice and seek appropriate referral as necessary.
9. To maintain accurate and current documentation.
10. To participate in clinical audit and clinical research activity.
11. To implement clinical nursing practice regardful of budgetary constraints.
12. To maintain and assist data collection records in the unit.
13. To adhere to the clinical risk management policies of the Unit.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
