Accommodation Facilities Assistants will have a specific area of focus (Cleaning & Inspections, Stores and Conferences) but will work collaboratively as part of a wider team on all aspects of the summer period to complete tasks as necessary.
Candidates need to be flexible, organised and calm to work in this busy and fast paced environment as Summer is the busiest time of the year.
This post is required during the summer period, 23rd June 2025 to 19th September 2025, and will suit applicants who ideally have no prior holiday commitment due to varying work hours.
About you: You will need to have a flexible approach to work and be available to work every day Monday to Saturday. Briefing of daily tasks will be at 9:30 each day. If you are required to start earlier or stay late you will be informed the day before.
This is one of the busiest times of the year so candidates will need to be flexible, organised and calm to work in this busy and fast paced environment.
You must be prepared to work from any of our accommodation sites located at the Frenchay or Glenside Campuses. A driving license would be useful as would the willingness to drive a commercial van.
You will be required to attend on-site training and a staff induction on Monday 23rd June to 27th June. This is compulsory.
Please note this is not just a desk-based role and you will be on your feet all day; some of the accommodation buildings have seven floors and some properties do not have a lift.
You will be required, amongst other duties, to check areas and items such as ovens, mattresses, WCs, bathrooms, remove rubbish and other student items, some of which will be dirty. You will also need the confidence to be able to approach and point out to contractors such as cleaning staff, tasks to be completed again if the required standard are not met.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at both our Frenchay Campus and Glenside Campus. Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed, while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
The campus has excellent transport links; we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
And Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre. Regular bus services link the campus to the main Frenchay site, the city centre and surrounding areas, and nearby Bristol Parkway train station.
