Description & Background:
The client is delivering the M&E fit-out of the Operations Service Centre (OSC) at Hinkley Point C. This nine-storey facility will house essential power station support functions including offices, medical centre, data centre, warehouse, workshops, labs, and canteen facilities, accommodating 350 workers once operational. We're seeking an experienced mechanical project engineer to join our team, working closely with sub-contractors and consultants to coordinate designs and installation while maintaining high-quality standards in this regulated environment.
Principal Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with sub-contractors and consultants to resolve technical queries and issues
Coordinate design and installation processes for mechanical systems
Undertake quality inspections and produce detailed reports
Implement engineering systems and documentation controls
Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and company standards
Apply practical engineering principles and calculations
Manage innovative methods and safe systems of work
Communicate effectively with senior management, designers, consultants, and project teams
Required Qualifications & Experience:
First degree in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical), construction/design related degree, or industry recognized technical qualification (NVQ level 4+)
Previous project delivery experience on major projects (MEP value £15m - 100m+)
Nuclear or highly regulated environment experience preferred
Strong practical understanding of MEP installation
Experience with quality processes and documentation
