As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The main duties of the role will include but not be limited to the following whilst working toward your Business Administrator Level 3 qualification which the company will fully support.
* Receiving by email day-to-day picks, creating the associated paperwork and loading to our in-house system. Knowledge of Office 365 products and email platforms is useful as this is what the company uses
* Creating jobs within our in-house system for the warehouse team to process
* Liaising with clients by email and phone on a day-to-day basis to ensure customer service remains paramount
* Learning how to create invoices and monthly billing process
* Learn about customs warehouse procedures as the company is an ETSF holder
* Learn about ISO compliance as the company is ISO accredited
* Learning about the regulations within the industry so you get a wider knowledge of the business
* Liaise with your team and management to learn about the business and help develop internal processes
* Possible light picking duties in the warehouse if required which will help gain a further understanding of the processes
* Learn about the company’s Health & Safety Policy, follow appropriate risk assessment and safe working procedures put in place

Course contents
* Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
* Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
* Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Becomes a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
* Demonstrates good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms. Uses the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively. Demonstrates agility and confidence in communications, carrying authority appropriately. Understands and applies social media solutions appropriately. Answers questions from inside and outside of the organisation, representing the organisation or department.

Your training plan
* Business Administrator Level 3
* On-the-job training delivered by the employer
* Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3
* Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training
Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities
Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps.

GCSE or equivalent in:
