Job Summary
The Sales Director at Cromwell Medical is responsible for overseeing recruitment and business development for across temporary staffing within the nursing and midwifery sectors across England and Wales. Primarily focused on driving business development and managing client relationship, the Sales Director will lead a high-performing healthcare recruitment team to provide swift, precise, and compliant talent solutions to clients. Additionally, the role involves direct client engagement and carries overall accountability for the performance and delivery of the local recruitment teams.
In this role, the Sales Director is also tasked with developing and executing strategic plans to expand Cromwell Medical’s market presence and secure new business opportunities. This involves identifying potential clients, understanding their specific needs, and crafting proposals that highlight the company’s strengths and capabilities. The Sales Director will work closely with senior leadership to align business development strategies with overall organizational goals, ensuring a cohesive approach to market growth. They will also stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activities to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge. By fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment, the Sales Director will drive team success and contribute to the company’s long-term vision and objectives in the healthcare sector.
Responsibilities:
The Sales Director is primarily focused on two key areas: sales and recruitment service delivery, and operations and people management.
Sales & Recruitment Service Delivery:
Relationship management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their recruitment needs are met effectively and efficiently
Day-to-day management of sales operations: Oversee daily sales operations to ensure smooth processes, monitor KPIs, and guarantee that sales and recruitment efforts are in sync to deliver optimal service
Strategic oversight of candidate acquisition plans on/offshore: Develop and implement strategies for acquiring top talent both domestically and internationally to meet client demands
Driving recruitment and service delivery: Ensure the delivery of high-quality recruitment services and manage the booking process to achieve excellent results
Sales management and delivery: Take an active role in client interactions to manage sales processes and ensure successful delivery of services
Operational and performance management: Lead and manage the recruitment team to enhance operational efficiency and achieve performance targets
Collaborate with SMEs to ensure quality and accuracy: Collaborate with specialized teams to maintain high standards and accuracy in service delivery
Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify and analyse competitors, informing strategic decisions
Manage employee performance: Share insights and challenges openly to drive improvements and address performance issues
Collaborate with shared services departments: Work with shared services to align strategies and drive performance across departments
Pipeline Management: Continuously develop and execute plans to maintain a robust pipeline of qualified nursing candidates
Recruitment service delivery and continuous improvement: Focus on ongoing improvements in recruitment processes, systems, and team performance both onshore and offshore
Accountability for bookings and gross margin growth: Manage booking hours and drive growth in gross margin to achieve financial targets
Collaborate with Compliance: Work closely with compliance to ensure all clearances are up-to-date and that daily KPIs are met
Reporting: Provide detailed reports on sales activities, gross profit, and team performance metrics.
Operations & People Management:
Drive the adoption and utilization: Promote the use of established processes and systems to enhance sales and recruitment operations and reporting
Manage overall recruitment process and delivery: Oversee offshore recruitment activities to ensure high-quality outcomes and effective team performance
Stakeholder Management: Foster strong connections with stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and achieve shared goals
Hiring Forecasting: Develop comprehensive hiring plans for both onshore and offshore needs, aligned with business goals
Drive engagement and performance: Collaborate with Learning and Development to enhance team skills and drive engagement and performance
Performance management: Manage team performance through Personal Development Plans (PDPs), Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and regular performance reviews
People and HR management: Handle HR responsibilities, including managing disciplinary actions, addressing grievances, and overseeing recognition and awards
Leadership: Provide strong leadership to guide and motivate the team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a positive work environment.
Market research: Regularly review and analyse competitor strategies, emerging trends, and market dynamics to stay ahead in the industry.
Keep abreast of new competitors and offerings: Monitor industry developments and new entrants to adjust strategies and maintain a competitive advantage.
Manage talent supply and demand: Track shifts in talent availability and requirements to optimize recruitment strategies and meet client needs effectively.

Previous recruitment, sales or recruitment service delivery management is essential
Healthcare recruitment experience
People and/or team lead experience (offshore / agency)
Healthcare recruitment campaign management experience at a BPO
