Technician Demonstrator - Carpentry & Joinery Wirral Metropolitan College is looking for a Technician Demonstrator to join our Carpentry & Joinery Team within the Construction Department. This is a 35 hours per week, full-time, permanent role offering a salary of up to £31,105 per annum. Why Join Us? Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare and present structured demonstrations aligned to the lecturers taught practical sessions that underpin specific skills to groups of students and deliver bespoke demonstrations to smaller groups within a curriculum area. Flexibility within the role is essential maximising support and supervision across all curriculum areas within the construction department guiding students on safe practice i.e. stacking materials and using lifting equipment demonstrating the logistics of transporting goods safely with fundamental elements of Health & Safety. Maintain the workshop environment ensuring the area is free from hazards so students, staff and visitors are safe and free from potential hazards. Conduct evaluation reports and update risk assessments monitoring the condition of equipment and providing guidance around safe practice when entering or working within the workshops and store area. Skills and Qualifications: Minimum level 2 literacy/English and numeracy/maths qualification or be willing to obtain within an agreed timeframe. Level 2 or above qualification in Carpentry & Joinery or extensive industry/site experience. Be familiar with safety aspects relating to general health and safety e.g. risk assessments. Be familiar with and have experience of the general aspects of construction crafts with specific experience of Carpentry & Joinery.
