About the role
We are currently offering a permanent full-time Cook position at our Wembley Residential Age Care Home. This role is responsible for maintaining the kitchen in an effective and efficient manner, providing nutritious, varied, and cost-effective meals in line with residents’ care plans and food safe principles. A key responsibility is developing and reviewing menus along with completing monthly stock-takes.
About you
You will possess a caring nature, be motivated to make a difference, and eager to join a team that is dedicated to improving the lives of others daily.
To achieve success in this role, the following qualifications or attributes are desired:
* Certificate III Commercial Cookery or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience cooking in a Residential Aged Care setting (preferred)
* Sound knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand
* Sound knowledge of dietary nutrition requirements
* Excellent interpersonal skills and participation as an active member of a team
* Infection Prevention Control Certificate
* Safe Food Handling Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months)
* National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
* Evidence of current influenza and COVID vaccinations (preferred)
