No experience is necessary as you will be provided with full training alongside an experienced operator. Although if you have experience in a production environment, that would be highly desirable.
Job security with a secure employer that is part of the largest steel recycling business in the UK offering a range of career opportunities.
As the largest steel reinforcement supplier in the UK, BRC is strategically placed in sites around the UK. BRC is a major supplier to Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station and has a history of supplying steel for other iconic projects such as Wembley Stadium and Prince of Wales Bridge (Second Severn Crossing). Thanks to recently secured capital investment, BRC are leading the field in readiness for the supply of rebar to the HS2 new high-speed rail link from London to Birmingham. We have exciting plans to grow our business and are offering secure and long-term employment opportunities.
Although the steel industry has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated sector, we at BRC are an inclusive organisation. We are keen to redress any imbalances regarding gender, caring responsibilities, and the 9 protected characteristics. Therefore we particularly welcome applications that create a diverse workforce that represents the community that we operate in. As a modern employer, we will consider part-time/job sharing opportunities from those unable to work full-time.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
1. Operate all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment and undertake production tasks safely and in accordance with instructions.
2. Complete production activities in order of priority.
3. Set up or adjust equipment according to manufacturing specifications. Monitor the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products.
4. Maintain accurate daily production records so that manufacturing performance can be analysed.
