The Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Consultant in HIV and Sexual Health. The post holder will be part of a team of consultants across Bolton/Wigan and Salford covering HIV and SRH, led by the clinical director Dr Emile Morgan within the Family Care Division. This post will join a team of 3 Consultants covering and will be on a 1 in 4 on-call rota.
The post holder will offer a comprehensive HIV service and SRH services. They will continue to improve the service by delivering training, both in-house, and to other health care professionals wishing to acquire sexual and reproductive healthcare qualifications in line with Trust, BASHH, BHIVA and Faculty guidance.

The Family Care Division aims to deliver the highest standards of care in maternity, sexual health, gynecology and a range of acute and community children’s services. We deliver over 6,000 babies and carry around 1,500 gynecological procedures each year. The Trust also has a tertiary level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, enabling 1 in 4 women across Greater Manchester to receive in-utero transfer and birth at extreme premature gestation at Bolton.
Provide support to the existing consultants’ team and undertake expert clinical practice in HIV supporting the clinical director of the service.
Diagnose manage and treat sexually transmitted infections including HIV with reference to local and national guidelines.
Provide a comprehensive range of reversible contraceptives dependent on commissioning priorities, service needs and the skills and interests of the individual.
With the Clinical director of the service develop and review clinical pathways and evidence based clinical guidelines in SRH.
Jointly provide professional leadership for medical staff in the service including, appraisal, clinical supervision and input into their continuing professional development, and responsibility for induction and mentoring of new medical staff.
Provide clinical supervision and medical advice for all clinical staff according to the needs of the service.
