Working as a key member of the Procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Procurement strategies for a range of categories, with a strategic focus on in-directs, and creating synergies in acquisitions supporting the business to achieve our long-term goals. Whilst maintaining relationships and managing existing suppliers, you will be responsible for sourcing new suppliers, alongside working with the Head of Procurement to manage spend.Support the implementation of a category procurement structureDevelop and implement Procurement strategies for the relevant categoriesIdentification, develop and delivery of cost savings initiativesBecome embedded in stakeholder areas to offer commercial supportManage stakeholder requests to improve value for moneyNegotiate contracts both for renewals and new servicesDevelop strong relationships with key suppliers to improve supplier performanceDevelop strong internal relationships and manage business needsStay informed on market trends to be able to implement strategies around optimising spend and overall value for moneyMentoring, development and sharing of experience with other team membersWhat we’re looking for:Demonstrable experience within a Senior / Strategic Buyer role with strong working knowledge of procurement processes, strategic sourcing and supplier managementCIPS qualified/part qualified or willing to work towards thisAble to interact with senior leaders to promote the benefit of procurement involvementGood working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft and EPR systems.
