Job Title: Head of Finance (Potential to Grow into Finance Director Role in 12-24 months) About the Company A well-established, family-owned enterprise in Crawley, West Sussex, specialising in high-quality hardware solutions for the residential sector worldwide, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance. With consistent growth of 20% year-on-year, the company is looking for a strategic financial leader to support both the main company and its sister company, specialising in door systems and mechanisms. This role presents a unique opportunity to transition into a Finance Director position within 12 to 24 months. About the Role As the Head of Finance, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will oversee all financial functions, providing timely, detailed financial insights and strategic planning to drive continued growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of post-qualification experience and be ready to take on an impactful, hands-on role within a growing SME. Responsibilities Strategic Financial Planning: Develop robust forecasting processes and provide strategic financial insights to support long-term growth. Financial Reporting & Budgeting: Lead comprehensive monthly reporting, budget management, and financial analysis to align with business objectives. Optimising Cash Flow & Working Capital: Manage cash flow and working capital, focusing on inventory, creditor, and debtor days to improve operational efficiency. Project Costing & Financial Controls: Oversee customer project costings and implement financial controls to ensure profitability and accurate tracking. Cost Accounting & Product Costing: Apply cost accounting principles, including standard and marginal costing, and oversee COGS and product cost management. Capex & Asset Management: Lead Capex planning, asset management, and life cycle costing, while leveraging government incentives where applicable. International Trade Costs: Manage international trade finance, including transfer pricing, forex risks, and shipping costs. P&L Management: Oversee the operational P&L and conduct gross profit analysis to drive business performance. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring delivery of accurate and timely financial data. Qualifications ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant. Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in fast-growing SMEs or larger corporations. Proven ability to manage hands-on financial operations and drive change. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
