Assistant Management Accountant (12-Month FTC)

Description
Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for delivering a clean and reconciled monthly trial balance to the company’s reporting timetable. This role is for someone who has proven experience in booking journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
Key Responsibilities
* Calculating and journaling monthly accruals and prepayments in accordance with the group’s accounting policies and in keeping with set month end timescales.
* Reviewing the group company trial balances and processing any corrections ensuring all group TBs are ready for reporting and review.
* Gathering audit evidence and assisting with annual audits
* Maintain the fixed asset register and process disposals and depreciation through the books.
* Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to support the trial balance.
* Provide support and cover for the core Accounts Assistant duties during busy periods and periods of absence to include sales invoice runs using in house invoicing software, purchase ledger and credit control activity and expenses in line with company policy using Concur software.
* Provide cover for sales orders and purchase invoices during the monthly sales invoice run treatment.
* Import and reconcile expense transactions.
* Assisting VAT returns.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We know you will have a wide and varied skill set, but to thrive in this role we think you need;
* A degree in either Finance or Accounting or similar and/or 1 year industry experience.
* Excellent proactive communication skills, able to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively
* Enjoy following process and working to deadlines, with excellent organisational skills.
* AAT qualified or qualified by experience, committed to continuous learning and development
* Intermediate or advanced Excel – confident taking data and manipulating it to identify changes, errors, and other trends.
* Able to work from the Paddington office 4 days per week.
Preferred but not essential
* Netsuite software experience
