The Business Support team collectively provides administrative and financial support to a range of sections and professionals across the people department. Managing and motivating your team, you will work to develop a culture that recognises and acts of the need to provide a responsive, cross working and effective customer focused service.
What you will be doing:
* Daily, you will be responsible for the Business Support team and will manage performance, capacity, budgets and the organisation of resources to ensure a high-quality support service is received across the department.
* It will be your responsibility to accurately and efficiently record, monitor and maintain budgets, financial information and resources to ensure that accounts are reconciled, and variances are reported.
* Working with senior managers and stakeholders, we require you to analyse areas of business support and practice to identify new ways of working. This will include looking at current processes and procedures, establishing areas of change and recommending appropriate solutions.
* We require you to build collaborative working relationships across the department to ensure new ways of working are supported to further build the capacity within Business Support.
* At times, you may also be expected to provide management cover across teams in the absence of other team leaders and support recruitment and training for new starters. This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working from our office in Patchway and working from home. There may be a requirement to work from other sites when cover is needed or when attending meetings (Kingswood and Patchway Locality Hubs, Badminton Road, Westgate, The Kingswood Centre). This is subject to change.
* It is essential that you hold either a degree or equivalent qualification and/or have undertaken a management qualification e.g. CMI in First Line Management or have equivalent relevant experience of supervising staff including performance management and development in children and or adult's services or a similar complex service.
* It will be key for you to have well-developed communication, negotiating and influencing skills to engage successfully with customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
* We require you to have knowledge and experience of continuous improvement, identifying and adapting processes.
* You will be able to undertake effective research and present findings in a clear, concise format using your report writing, presentation and IT skills.
* Given the elements of the role, you will be able to cope with competing demands and deliver to deadlines.
