Job summary An secondment opportunity has arisen to join the Site Operations Team at Bedford Hospital. The Operations Centre is responsible for the co-ordination of Site Operations across the Trust, managing capacity and flow and providing senior clinical leadership out of hours. The Clinical Site Managers role is integral to the team managing day-to-day Site activities throughout the Trust, providing senior clinical support and co-ordinating workforce resources for the Out of Hours period. The post holder will possess the knowledge skills and experience to identify triggers that could potentially impact on patient pathways and implement actions to assist in the resolution of these pressures, ensuring patient experience and safety is maintained. The role requires strong leadership skills, a flair for problem solving, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work under pressure. Main duties of the job To co-ordinate day to day activities for capacity and flow throughout the Trust Co-ordinate admissions via the Emergency and urgent pathways using clinical assessment skills for patient placement through various admission pathways Monitor and identify triggers that could impact on Trust Operations and implement escalation plans in response to pressures To assist in achieving corporate priorities and key performance targets for Emergency and elective care To co-ordinate the Hospital at Night (HN) service, triaging calls to on-call teams with the aim of supporting clinical safety and ensuring timely patient assessment To work collaboratively with the out of hours teams including outreach service and medical leads To undertake clinical skills and extended roles in line with professional ability, training, NMC and Trust guidelines in order to maintain optimum patient care To attend and assist with medical emergencies during the out of hours period To provide clinical leadership out of hours and provide expert clinical support to staff promoting a patient centred approach to care Undertake the role of Senior Nurse Bleep holder - 309 Co-ordinate the utilisation of workforce throughout the Trust out of hours, ensuring safe staffing of all clinical areas.
