Maroondah City Council is seeking a passionate and experienced professional to complement the existing Youth and Children's Services Team.
Are you a passionate and experienced leader in the early childhood sector? We are seeking an exceptional Education and Care Service Coordinator to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families in Maroondah.
The Education and Care Service Coordinator will manage Council’s early years service based in Croydon. The service is a registered long day care centre licensed for 38 children in a multi-age setting and operates 48 weeks per year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, coaching, and fostering the growth of a team of dedicated Early Years Professionals to ensure organisational values and a positive team culture are embedded into the service.
You will be responsible for the leadership, vision, and guidance of the daily operations of the service.
Our service is very community focused, and as such, this role will establish and maintain positive relationships with other early childhood professionals and community groups such as maternal and child health nurses, Kerrabee Social Inclusion Program, Monkami, and early intervention services to ensure high-quality outcomes for all children and their families.
Applicants must have excellent leadership skills, exceptional time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines, plan, implement, evaluate, and review all elements of the service. This includes the responsibility for the care, safety, wellbeing, and education of all children. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of inclusive educational programs for children between 0-5, which meets legislative requirements and funding guidelines.
As the Coordinator, you will also be responsible for the management and monitoring of the service accounts, funding, and budget.
Minimum Diploma in Children’s Services and/or Early Childhood Teacher (desirable) qualification required, along with a proven ability to manage a Long Day Care Service.
As part of our selection process, you may be required to undergo pre-employment checks (Psychometric Assessment, CrimCheck, and Working with Children Check).
