About The Cambian Group

Cambian Dilston College
Cambian Dilston College comprises our main college building, four cottages, five apartments, and a community house in Hexham, on a 9-acre rural campus in Dilston, Northumberland.
The College serves young people and adults with additional learning needs and complex behaviors that may challenge. We are expanding our provision of 52-week care placements and seeking committed, resilient, empathetic, and engaging youth support workers. These roles involve delivering positive behaviour support to empower our young people, fostering positive change, self-regulation skills, and lifelong independence.
Role Overview
You will be a vital part of dedicated teams helping children learn and develop life skills. No special qualifications are required, but a passion for helping children reach their potential is essential.

Main Responsibilities
1. Create and follow high-quality, ambitious curriculum plans, from long-term overviews to individual schemes of work.
2. Design session plans with effective differentiation to meet diverse needs.
3. Act as a personal tutor, supporting students to achieve EHCP outcomes related to independent living, resilience, and engagement.
4. Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to expand horizons and improve skills.
5. Deliver education using therapeutic approaches, incorporating fun and engaging activities.
6. Maintain stimulating classroom environments and displays.
7. Ensure high standards of education aligned with Ofsted EIF and college objectives.
8. Recognize and promote student achievement through ambitious goal setting.
9. Implement and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively.
10. Keep accurate records of progress, attendance, and achievements for reports and meetings.
Requirements
* Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
* Degree in a relevant subject (transferable to the college curriculum)
* At least 1 year of experience as a qualified teacher
* Knowledge of the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
