Responsibilities
:
1. Take Project Management ownership of the Electric Powertrain content that delivers into a BEV vehicle development programme.
2. Monitor engineering deliverables progress against key performance indicators (KPIs), identify deviations from plan, and take proactive measures to address issues and ensure timely technical resolution.
3. Collaborate with Vehicle line manager (VLM) & Project Engineers to successfully deliver all Electric Powertrain Hardware and Software for an Electric Vehicle Program.
4. Drive the development of comprehensive programme plans including scope definition, resource allocation, budget estimation, and milestone scheduling within Electric PT team.
5. Identify potential technical risks and challenges early in the program lifecycle, escalate them to the VLM and assist in developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes.
6. Maintain regular communication within Electric PT department and other function groups to provide updates on technical status, solicit feedback and address concerns.
7. Manage & monitor engineering changes effectively, evaluating their impact on schedule, cost, and quality, and obtaining necessary approvals as required.
8. Execute and manage reporting, changes and deviations to the programme.
9. Under the guidance of a VLM, schedule design activities to meet engineering deliverables.
10. Represent the team and report out on Electric PT Engineering status and deliverables (e.g. BOM, Releases, DFMEA, DVP&R etc.) in Program Status Reviews
11. Contribute to complete and effective engineering plans and schedules, including planning own activities.
12. Report progress and milestones to the PMO and actively participate in planning and scoping exercises.
Experience & Qualifications:
13. Significant project management experience in high volume programmes within an Automotive OEM or Tier1 supplier, preparation of project documentation and reports. Risk management, mitigation and recovery planning.
14. Basic understanding of High Voltage Electric Powertrain architectures and underlying technologies including HV batteries, Electric drive units, Power electronics, Thermal systems.
15. Experience of project delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework and full product lifecycle activities.
16. Ability to communicate the Electric PT programme status to other internal or external stakeholders (vehicle programme team, senior management, other function groups)
17. Articulate, self-motivated, and able to work well on own initiative.
18. Full driving licence is essential.
19. No visa or other restrictions for working in the UK or travelling in the European Union.
