The daily duties include:
1. Procurement and scheduling of products, materials, plant, and equipment
2. Ensuring purchases offer best value
3. Monitoring and reporting of price increases, updating internal spread sheets.
4. Tracking orders and proactively addressing any failed or late deliveries
5. Arranging the return of non-conforming products
6. Maintaining and developing the supply chain
7. Identification of new products
8. Processing of purchase ledger records
Key skills and competencies
9. Proven track record in best-value procurement ensuring timely on-time delivery in line with project programs and budget
10. Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills to optimise pricing and commercial terms
11. Review the credentials of potential new suppliers and ensure that suppliers are compliant
12. Ability to forward plan for multiple site projects and prioritise workload across long-lead and real time demands
13. Identify potential supply problems and solutions
14. Excellent interpersonal skills - strong relationship builder and communicator
15. Takes individual ownership and collaborates to deliver team and company objectives
16. Ability to undertake take offs would be an advantage
17. Ability to implement and manage sound business processes and procedures
Required
18. Minimum 2 years Purchasing experience in roofing, cladding, or an aligned industry
19. Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management
20. Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets
Preferred
21. To read and interpret project drawings and specifications
