R&D Test Engineer


📍 Maldon, Essex | 🕐 Full-Time - On-Site 💼 £40,000 to £45,000 DOE


We’re looking for a hands-on R&D Test Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering team, supporting the development and testing of cutting-edge products. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with prototypes, and turning test data into real-world product improvements, this could be the role for you.


What you’ll be doing:

* Carrying out structured experiments and test procedures on both prototype and production devices
* Assisting in the build and setup of test equipment and prototypes – this includes mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration installations
* Interpreting and analysing technical data to diagnose issues and implement effective test solutions
* Collaborating with engineers, presenting test findings and contributing to technical discussions and improvements
* Producing clear and concise test reports and presentations
* Identifying opportunities for improvement across design, testing, and manufacturing
* Actively participating in project and team meetings, contributing to successful project outcomes
* Maintaining a safe, tidy, and efficient lab environment, complying with health and safety regulations


What you’ll bring:

* A BSc degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
* Strong hands-on experience in a lab setting, running experiments and analysing results
* Proven ability to interpret and act on lab testing data
* Confident working with PC-based applications, including MS Office and databases
* Highly organised, with a knack for keeping workspaces clean, efficient, and compliant
* A clear understanding of and commitment to safe systems of work
