We are looking for a Process Development Engineer, Staff reporting to the Manager of Engineering to join our team in Warwick, UK.
Position Summary:
Develop medical textile-based structures to meet customer needs, focusing on carrying products through development, validation, and into production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead development programs as the technical expert, collaborating with project managers, development engineers, operations, and quality teams.
2. Guide processes through development, characterization, optimization, validation (including IQ/OQ/PQ), and transfer to production.
3. Work hands-on on the shop floor to develop processes and training materials.
4. Design and execute engineering studies such as DOE and COV, and report findings.
5. Develop and review procedures, work instructions, and SOPs.
6. Assess product and process risks, and support quality deliverables like pFMEAs with technical input.
7. Engage with customers to understand validation requirements and propose strategies.
8. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and consultants.
Education and Experience:
Required:
* BS or MS in Mechanical, Textile, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
* 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Hands-on technical leadership skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Passion for innovation and proven problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
* Experience in medical, textile, aerospace, or automotive industries.
* Knowledge of textile processes like braiding, knitting, weaving, non-wovens.
* Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
* Lean manufacturing experience.
* Proficiency with software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Minitab.
