Role description:
Our Water & Utilities team are looking to recruit a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team working on a range of clean water & wastewater projects. As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will join our Southern Hub to work on a variety of projects with our Utilities clients in the South East and along the M4 Corridor, whilst also having the opportunity to apply your expertise to projects across the UK.

Role accountabilities:
1. Ability to work independently and as a team member carrying out production, checking, review or approval of complex electrical detailed designs including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
2. Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations and ancillary assets.
3. Technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, in a Design Lead capacity where assigned, using latest digital design techniques.
4. Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers
5. Lead and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA)
6. Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters
7. Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives.
8. Act as mentor and technical supervisor to other staff
9. Line management and performance development responsibility for assigned staff
10. Ensure capture of key project and technical knowledge, including innovations
11. Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally
Qualifications & Experience:
12. Degree in Electrical Engineering or other directly related degree
13. Chartered Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as IET, InstMC or CIWEM
14. Significant experience in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects
15. Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design
16. Team leader with collaborative behaviours
17. Desired: Water and/or wastewater experience
