FPG is recruiting for a Junior Smart Metering Engineer in a field-based role with 4 days of work outside and 1 day working from home or in London office.
We are seeking a Junior Commissioning Engineer with 2-8 years of experience in setting up VPNs, IP networking, and understanding 4G routers and connectivity.

Their innovations represent the next generation of smart heating, offering customers insightful data analysis and enabling remote supervision and control of smart heating systems.
Responsibilities:
* Deploy state-of-the-art automated meter reading (AMR) devices for efficient utility data acquisition.
* Set up mesh network devices and routers to establish secure communication and seamless data transmission to our data centers via virtual private networks (VPNs).
* Use sophisticated tools to construct resilient mesh networks guaranteeing secure data transfer from buildings to our software.
* You will act as a brand guardian representing us with assurance while partnering with subcontractors on new projects and upgrades to existing properties.
* Address both remote and on-site challenges conducting radio frequency (RF) assessments and troubleshooting to maintain peak performance.

* Skilled in both written and verbal English communication for client interactions.
Experience Required:
* Background in IP networking and VPN setup either through education or work experience.
* Qualifications in communications networks such as 3G / 4G / LTE / 5G.
* Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
* Experience in the energy sector particularly in low-carbon heating heat networks or utility metering (bonus not mandatory)
Estimated salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on experience.
