** Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Programme | Upto £38,900 + Car | Training Team Lead**
Calex is a specialist training and consultancy organisation contracted to a number of market leading automotive manufacturers. We are currently seeking to recruit an Apprentice Programme Training Lead responsible for managing a team of Trainers based in Milton Keynes.
This role will report directly into the Training Delivery and Quality Manager and the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day operational line management of the training delivery team based at the Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Academy in Tongwell, MK.
The successful candidate must possess existing line management experience, including staff scheduling, performance management, performance reporting, and presentation skills.
Note : Automotive retail, training delivery and development, and apprentice programme experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
The Apprenticeship Programme is responsible for the development of hundreds of apprentices across the Mercedes-Benz Car, Van, and Truck retail networks in the UK.

1. Work with the policies and procedures as set out by Mercedes-Benz Apprenticeship Academy
2. Responsibility for the daily management of the Training schedule for apprentices attending the Apprenticeship Academy
3. Leading & supporting the team with mandatory training and development (CPD)
4. Ensure training schedules are updated and maintained with available trainers, sufficient competencies to cover the requirements of the academy.
5. Responsible for arranging and conducting skills and knowledge assessments of apprentices and supporting invigilation and technical support for the EPAO as required.
6. Providing monthly data and reporting for Operations meetings, Apprentice progression, Additional Learning support, “At risk” and intervention plans.
7. Ensure the promotion of equality & diversity legislation is adhered to in line with policy, promoting safe working environment.
8. Maintain own Continuous professional development in line with the requirements of the role, apprenticeship training and current legislation.
9. Ensure effective use of resources with an emphasis on sustainability and reducing detrimental effects on the environment.
10. Promote the welfare of apprentices and commitment to keeping them safe in their education in line with relevant legislation and regulations.
Working with:
11. Development Coach Lead to ensure ongoing apprentice advancement, welfare, and health & safety.
12. Safeguarding Team to ensure any apprentice support requirements are planned, and interventions implemented.
13. Quality Team to ensure all training is delivered to the standard set by Mercedes-Benz, relevant Apprenticeship Standard, Ofsted, ESFA, EPA requirements and Delivery Plans and SoW.
Team responsibilities,
14. Actively manage and support the Academy Training Team by holding weekly meetings, 121s at frequency required by the individual and annual appraisals.
15. Liaising with the Training & Quality manager on training and development needs of individual team members.
16. Working with the team to ensure policies, procedures are followed to ensure a safe & secure learning environment for apprentices and team members.
17. Monitor apprentice training records to ensure the team are reporting accurate records for the apprenticeship journey.
18. Mentor and support new team members during their induction period, reporting to the Training & Quality Manager and Account Manager.
19. Provide additional cover as required for apprenticeship training within own discipline.
This is not exhaustive duties of the role and there are other duties that are performed on an ad hoc basis and according to the needs of the business.
Essential Personal Qualities, Qualifications & Skills:
20. Proven experience in a similar leadership role (Essential)
21. Project management experience (Desirable)
22. Recent Mercedes-Benz brand, and/or retailer experience (Highly Desirable)
23. Recent experience operating within an apprenticeship programme training environment (Highly Desirable)
24. Experience of delivering and/or developing training using a variety of platforms, including virtual classroom (Highly Desirable)
25. Level 3 or equivalent Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (Desirable)
26. Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Experience and/or Professional Qualification (Desirable)
27. Existing Technical Training and/or Coaching experience, and linked qualification (Desirable)
28. Recognised teaching qualification PTLLS, TAP) (Desirable)
29. Recognised Management or Leadership qualification (Desirable)
30. Maths & English GCSE Level 4/C or above (or equivalent) (Highly Desirable)
31. Demonstrate an outgoing, enthusiastic, and confident personality, with a desire to engage with people
32. Strong communication (written & verbal) and organisational skills
33. Excellent time management

Normal place of work: Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Academy, Delaware Drive, Tongwell, Milton Keynes, MK15 8BA. Monday to Friday.
Salary: Up to £38,900 DOE + Company Vehicle
Employment Status: Full Time (Monday to Friday)
