In this role you’ll gain insight and exposure to all parts of the procurement cycle, initially in a support role and in time, following appropriate training and task exposure, your own small-scale projects. This role will initially be focusing on the Category Management team but during this apprenticeship you will have time in and work with all parts of the Procurement department including our Buyers and our Vendor Management Team. As well as supporting the Group’s wider objectives, this role offers opportunities to develop across several areas such as project management, stakeholder collaboration, data analysis, market research, sourcing, negotiation, office administration, contract and supplier management. Some of the work will involve negotiating and working with colleagues across the Group to gain knowledge and support ongoing projects, ultimately with a focus on delivering value for money for the Group and our end customers. You will be continually learning about the profession while developing the skills required to progress. You will also be given the opportunity to make your mark and will be encouraged and supported to introduce new ideas and ways of making things better. Some of the things we need from you: 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English at Level 4/Grade C or above Further education qualifications such as A levels, BTEC or equivalent Genuine enthusiasm and a strong desire to build a career in the profession Organisational skills with a methodical approach, alongside confident ICT abilities A natural problem-solver who is intuitive and passionate about personal growth, eager to learn, and continuously develop Strong communicator, both written and verbal, who can engage confidently with colleagues and stakeholders Team-player, happy to work as part of a busy team in a fast paced and challenging environment Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and productive while working from home While this role is home based, you should have the ability to travel to Group offices and other locations for meetings as required. Our Group offices are in Birmingham Business Park, Solihull and Central Park, Worcester. Who are we looking for: We are looking for someone who has the necessary drive, enthusiasm and curious mind to support our growth. You will join a growing team and to be successful in this role you need to be a natural team player and collaborator. The ability to adapt and be flexible is critical. You must also be a confident communicator with the skills to deal with both internal and external stakeholders. For your apprenticeship you will study toward the Level 4 CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Commercial Procurement and Supply qualification where you will attend 1-1/group taught training modules with a personal advisor alongside continuous on the job learning within your role. You will be on a two-year fixed contract and on the completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for any related job vacancies within Platform Housing Group.
