Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Booking and Registration Clerk is responsible for effective scheduling and booking of patients to maintain efficient department/program operations. The Booking and Registration Clerk is directly responsible for receiving all referrals, registering the referral, placing them on a waitlist for the Physician to triage, booking appointments and procedures, scheduling maintenance of patient records, and efficient organization of patient flow. Primary contact point for patient/public/internal inquiries and routine correspondence as it relates to booked appointments and procedures.
Access to reliable transportation is required as travel will be necessary for this position.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
* Grade 12 plus one year of related experience, or graduation from a recognized secretarial/office administration/business program required
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Access) required
* Medical Terminology an asset
* Minimum typing speed of 45wpm preferred
* Experience using STAR and PHS preferred
* Must be able to function independently in a high volume and highly pressurized ambulatory care setting
* Demonstrated verbal communication, accuracy and speed skills
* Coordination, organization and decision-making skills
* Ability to learn and work quickly and be adaptable to change
* Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Hours
Permanent Part-time (28 hours bi-weekly)
Shifts may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits
$23.35 - $25.39 hourly
