Who are we?
HTG-UK (Health Transportation Group UK) is one of the UK’s largest Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPTS) providers, carrying out over 550,000 journeys on behalf of the NHS every year. We have a total of 15 operational bases across the UK, over 700 employees and are leading the way in delivering safe, caring, high-quality patient transport.
What can you expect?
Working as a BANK Emergency Care Assistant at our Norwich base, you will play an important role in delivering non-emergency transport and emergency care to medically eligible and vulnerable patients who would otherwise be unable to travel to vital appointments or return home following admissions to hospital.
Every day is different, so your workload will be varied. During your working day you may need to:
1. Conduct thorough patient assessments in emergency situations to determine the severity of injuries and appropriate interventions.
2. Provide advanced emergency medical care, including but not limited to airway management and wound care.
3. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting care provided and any changes in patient status during transport.
4. Participate in ongoing training and education programs to stay current with best practices in emergency care.
Whilst on shift, you will carry out your work either as a single person or in a two-person crew and will be driving and transferring patients with varying needs, ages, physical and/or mental health conditions, and mobility requirements.
The main focus for an Emergency Care Assistant with HTG-UK is to provide comfortable, timely transport whilst delivering high standards of patient care. This is a highly rewarding role, allowing you to make a real difference to the experience of our service-users.
This is a bank position, working varied shifts that are mutually agreed between you and the company between Monday to Sunday. More information on shift availability will be discussed at interview.
About you
First and foremost, you will be caring and compassionate. You will be flexible, reliable, and able to provide comfort, as well as reassurance to our patients. A friendly smile and encouraging approach will make a real difference to the patients that you help, giving them a much-needed boost.
You will be lifting and supporting patients in this role and therefore need to have a good level of physical fitness and the willingness to undergo suitable training such as Manual Handling, First Aid at Work, Safeguarding, Infection Control, and Driver Training.
You will have experience of providing emergency care in a previous role, and you will be qualified up to a minimum of a L4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC4), which shall need to be current training.
You must have a manual UK driving license.
