Financial Controller to lead the Asset finance subsidiaries of Stark and create monthly management accounts. There will be support through wider group finance as well as asset finance team.
Technical Requirements
CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified
At least 5 years experience in senior financial analysis/reporting roles
Line management experience
Up to date knowledge of payroll and personal taxation
Advanced knowledge of Sage and Excel
* Manage the Squire finance team including accounting, billing and credit control
* Create Stark Utility accounts which includes Purchase ledger processing
* Create Stark infra Elec accounts with support of Squire finance team function
* Create Stark infra Gas accounts with support of Squire finance team function
* Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual financial information is prepared and reviewed in accordance with group policies and timetables
* Perform monthly analysis of business unit performance and trends, including operational metrics
* Review monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation to ensure balances are complete and accurate and that appropriate processes are in place
* Ensure complete and accurate fixed asset registers in compliance with group requirements.
* Work with non-finance managers to ensure adherence to budget, exercising appropriate level of financial control over spend by ensuring processes are fit for purpose and followed
* Maintain a culture of continuous improvement for Asset finance systems, identifying and resolving issues and proposing change.
* Participate in business process troubleshooting and enhancement initiatives, reviewing financial processes and proposing and implementing improvements
* Assist in the preparation of the year end statements and liaise with external auditor
* Provide support for other Group finance teams as required
* Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings
* Proactively seeks to improve controls over revenue recognition
* Development of direct reports and the wider Squire finance team, supporting them as required with people management, coaching and training
* Carry out tasks as defined in any direct report's job profile/s where required
* Participate in regular training/ learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge
* Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices
* Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work
* Any other reasonable duties as required
