Your Role
As a Consultant within Capgemini Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the country’s leading experts in the nuclear sector, contributing to some of the most complex and high-profile client engagements. You will play a key role in the design and development of nuclear systems, working on cutting-edge technologies that drive the future of nuclear power.
* Design and develop nuclear power plant systems and components through technical readiness and regulatory assessment programmes
* Conduct analyses to optimise designs and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory requirements
* Prepare technical documentation and presentations for client stakeholders and regulatory bodies
* Support business development through maintaining an awareness of client resource requirements
* Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration and liaise with specialists and discipline leads
* Manage requirements and product definition data using systems engineering toolsets
What do you need?
Essential:
* At least 3 years of experience in the nuclear sector, with a solid understanding of nuclear physics, nuclear safety, and radiation protection.
* Familiarity with nuclear regulatory frameworks, including ONR regulations.
* Experience in working in a multi-discipline engineering context (mechanical, electrical, systems, safety, human factors, security).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex nuclear concepts to a range of audiences.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and security.
* Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* A proactive approach to identifying and solving engineering challenges.
Desirable:
* Master’s degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* 5 years of experience in the nuclear sector, with at least 3 years focused on design development and/or analysis.
* Knowledge and experience with nuclear power plant systems, advanced reactor designs (e.g., SMRs, Gen IV reactors), and waste management solutions.
* Experience in mechanical, structural, or I&C applications within the nuclear sector.
* Familiarity with tools such as IBM Rational DOORS, Capella, Siemens Teamcenter, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
* Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
