Classroom Assistant Required Cardiff Flexible Hours £12.90 hourly rate Our partnership school has asked us to recruit for a Fluent Welsh Classroom Assistant to work within a Primary school in Cardiff. The role will be supporting the needs of KS2 students. The successful candidate will be working alongside specific classes of students who exhibit challenging behaviors in school. The position will begin in February and run for the remainder of the academic year until July 2025. Although this is a temporary position, the school has indicated there is scope to move into a permanent position with them and continue in September. Interviews will be held in the office over the next 2 weeks. What does it take to be a Classroom Assistant?

* Patience and understanding
* No formal educational qualifications necessary
* Minimum 5 GCSEs in core subjects
* Enhanced DBS Certificate available on the Update service (Teaching Personal can assist)
* Valid registration with the Education Workforce Council (Teaching Personal can assist)
* Able to communicate effectively through the medium of Welsh
For this role, the classroom assistant will be working within several classes on a day-to-day basis. Their position is to assist the teacher’s delivery of education to the students and manage challenging behavior. Reading or explaining tasks to students, understanding, and supporting their needs and keeping students focused on their tasks.
