We have an exciting opportunity for an Avionics Systems Engineer where you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a cross-functional team that bridges the gap between requirements, design, production and deployment of our avionics products.
Main responsibilities
* Work closely with internal and external customers to derive system level requirements
* Manage system and component level specifications and design documents
* Ensure compliance with agreed specifications as well as industry standards and regulations
* Work with the design engineering and test team to prove and qualify the avionic products
* Work with mechanical and production engineering to ensure Manufacturing Packages (BoMs, PTSs, ATPs, drawings etc.) are generated, maintained and adhere to company standard
* Keep abreast of the latest advancements in avionics technology
* Support Business development in generating technical proposals
Education/qualifications
* Engineering Degree in a relevant subject (Electrical / Electronics / Aeronautical) or equivalent experience
Experience:
* A proven background in developing avionics in an aerospace environment (civil or military)
* A specific in-depth knowledge and recent experience in the design, development, integration and qualification of avionics systems (civil or military)
* A knowledge and appreciation of System Engineering lifecycle
* Experience in avionics interface protocols e.g. ARINC-429
* Experience in creating and editing systems documentation
* Worked with development engineering and manufacturing groups to transition product into production
* Previous experience within the UK Aerospace and Defence Industry is an advantage
* An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbal. You will build and sustain effective and lasting relationships with the Customer, Stakeholders and AJT teams
Other requirements
* Some travel may be required (including within Europe)
* SC clearance or ability to obtain
