We are growing our Financial Planning team and have an opportunity for a talented finance professional with a passion for driving strategic decision-making and building relationships. We're looking for a Finance Business Partner – Costs to take ownership of cost budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment across departments and administrative expenses. In this influential role, you'll work closely with stakeholders at all levels—including our Executive team—to provide insights, challenge assumptions, and support data-driven financial planning.
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join the Society during a critical period of transformation for the organisation. This role and the Financial Planning team are critical in supporting the business to deliver the desired financial performance for the Society.

Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Finance Business Partner – Costs at Nottingham Building Society:
* You will support your business areas in co-ordinating the achievement of the Society’s cost targets by recommending approaches to cost control and efficiency, utilising cost benchmarking studies to achieve desired efficiencies.
* Aid with development of channel profitability model to support the strategic view of the Society.
* Partner with and provide support to key head office stakeholders and work closely with the Leadership team to achieve the desired efficiency targets and provide check and challenge on business projects.
* Provide financial insight, analysis and appropriate challenge of stakeholders in support with delivery of the Society’s financial performance.
* Support cost analysis for projects, ensuring the cost/benefits of the project are embedded within the budgeting process. You will support the production and best practice of new business cases.
* Ensure good cost management behaviours are practiced throughout the business and the issue of cost control remains a primary behaviour.
* Maintain relevant finance controls, policies and procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose during the growth and development of the business.
* Assist the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and Investment & Costs Business Partner in relation to any other reasonable request in relation to a financial reporting process.
* Produce the reporting framework to budget holders on payroll and non-payroll costs drive efficiencies and best practice throughout the month end and forecasting cycle.
About you:
* Transferable experience within an accounting role with some experience of cost management.
* Knowledge and understanding of budget processes and cost management/reporting.
* An excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Experience of influencing senior leaders and the ability to build and leverage key relationships.
* Ability to present data to stakeholders in a clear, concise and digestible way. Provide insight and guidance to key stakeholders rather than provision of data only.
* Experience of facilitating change in a business environment and delivering cost efficiencies/process improvements through a continuous improvement mindset.
* Ability to deliver against deadlines, whilst managing dependencies and proactively communicating progress with stakeholders of deliverables.
* Must be fully qualified with a relevant accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
