The R&D Product Testing & Compliance Supervisor oversees and co-ordinates all laboratory testing and procedures, ensuring the consistent running of aerodynamic, acoustic, thermal efficiency and safety testing that adhere to industry standards, organises, prioritises, and maintains the testing schedule within the Laboratory to ensure consistent and comparable results whilst also project managing the third-party accreditations & certifications for both new developments and existing product ranges. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Overseeing and co-ordinating operations and procedures of the R&D Laboratory, applied to the testing and analysis of aerodynamics, acoustics and heat transfer within ventilation appliances. Organising, planning, and maintaining the testing schedule to ensure a timely delivery of product performance results in accordance with standards and the R&D project pipeline. Supervising the laboratory team (currently one employee but with scope to increase) Leading the external testing programs for our products, including but not limited to Safety, EMC, Acoustic & ErP. Project management of third-party product approval testing and certification (Safety/EMC/CB) Verifying published data against measured results, competitor analysis & overseeing test reports. Assist with the technical support to the R&D team advising on componentry and testing standards to ensure new and existing products are compliant. Assist with the technical support activities in the R&D group, providing specialist knowledge to the internal team, customers and commercial teams. Ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained and overseeing the introduction, validation, and accreditation of new testing methods & technologies. Maintaining knowledge and expertise on product compliance and industry test standards. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (BSc/BEng) or similar • Supervisory experience is advantageous • Product testing & compliance experience would be beneficial • Ability to analyse & review data with a meticulous attention to detail • Knowledge of Aerodynamic testing, Acoustics or Thermal transfer would be advantageous but not essential.
