University of Hull – Pre-sessional English Tutor
Job type: Fixed term, full time
Location: Online (must be based in the UK)
The Language Unit at the University of Hull is seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced teachers of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) to join our online pre-sessional teaching team this summer.
Successful candidates will teach as a member of a teaching team within an established programme of study, with the support and mentorship of a Pre-sessional English programme coordinator.
Contracts are for 11 or 7 weeks which cover pre-course induction, course hours and end of course assessment. Hours for the posts are full time (36.5 hours per week).
Course Dates
We are recruiting EAP tutors for the courses listed below:
* 10 week course
Staff induction: 4th June
Course start: 9th June
End of course assessment: 19th August
* 6 week course
Staff induction: 2nd July
Course start: 7th July
End of course assessment: 19th August
Postholders will have the opportunity to remain in a bank of teachers where additional hours may be available to support new programmes or operational needs of the Language Unit.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a good first degree and a recognised English language teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA, CertTrinity TESOL) as a minimum plus relevant teaching experience. Applicants with a TEAP qualification, a DELTA/ DipTESOL and/or a master’s in Applied Linguistics/TESOL are particularly encouraged to apply.
