We are looking for an Administrator to join our IT Team. The IT team play an integral role to support staff in their delivery of our much needed services.
The Administrator for the IT Department plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the IT department, providing vital administrative and basic IT support. This is an entry-level position, ideal for individuals with administrative experience who are looking for a role that offers exposure to IT tasks without requiring prior technical expertise. You will assist with new starters, leavers, equipment management, and first-line support for user issues, working closely with both the IT team and other departments.
Main duties will include;
Administrative and Coordination
New starter process
* Manage equipment stock and assignment.
* Coordinate equipment purchases when needed.
* Set up new equipment and user accounts.
* Add users to teams/distribution lists.
* Liaise with HR for induction dates and perform staff inductions.
Leavers process
* Revoke access for departing staff.
* Maintain the leaver's spreadsheet and communicate with third-party vendors for data purging.
* Collect and reset returned equipment, labelling it for recycling or disposal.
Equipment upgrades
* Identify staff eligible for upgrades and coordinate equipment handover.
* Set up new devices and manage the return and recycling of old devices.
Basic IT support
* Assist users with password resets and account setups.
* Help users with basic setup of equipment like monitors and laptops.
* Restoring deleted files using Microsoft 365 (following pre-defined procedures).
* Provide basic troubleshooting support for issues such as connectivity, software setups, and display problems (following pre-defined procedures).
* Coordinate with IT team for more complex technical issues.
Regular maintenance and documentation
* Maintain the asset register and track equipment assignments.
* Ensure regular updates of software and manage device updates.
* Assist in maintaining accurate records in the IT ticketing system.
* Create and maintain user guides and documentation for staff processes.
Hours Remuneration and Benefits:
* Salary £12.15 - £13.00
* 20-28 hours per week.
* 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays, increasing to 6 weeks after 5 years’ service

Qualifications/Education/Training:
Essential;
* Education ensuring good standard of written and spoken English.
