Early Years Practitioner - Barking & Dagenham
Are you an Early Years Practitioner with a CACHE Level 3 qualification, looking to transition from private nursery settings into a primary school nursery/EYFS environment? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a full time, passionate and dedicated practitioner to work in Nursery and Reception classes within schools across Barking and Dagenham.
This is an ideal opportunity if you're seeking shorter working hours than a private nursery and term time hours only or considering career progression into a Teaching Assistant role in KS1 and KS2.
Job Responsibilities:
As an Early Years Practitioner in a primary school setting, your role will include:
1. Supporting children's development through play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework
2. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for children with additional needs, including ASD and speech & language difficulties
3. Assisting with phonics, early numeracy, and social development
4. Creating a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment that supports all children's individual needs
5. Observing and recording children's progress, identifying areas where additional support may be required
6. Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and outside professionals to support children's learning
What We're Looking For:
1. CACHE Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent
2. Experience working in nursery or EYFS settings (private or school-based)
3. A strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
4. SEN experience is highly desirable, particularly supporting children with ASD and speech & language needs
5. A positive and proactive approach to supporting children's learning
Compliance Requirements:
1. A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
2. Right to work in the UK
3. Satisfactory references covering work history since formal education
4. Up-to-date Safeguarding & Prevent training (can be provided)
