Cheltenham Ladies’ College is looking to appoint to the role of Head of Professional Guidance Centre. This vacancy has arisen due to the current incumbent securing a promotion to the Leadership Team.
We are looking for an outward-facing and skilled professional with strong management experience and vision to maintain and develop a dynamic and effective programme of professional guidance.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in one of the world’s leading schools, guiding students as they make exciting decisions about their next steps, particularly focusing on the UK and USA.
This role carries significant responsibility and scope for professional development. The successful candidate will promote the work of the Professional Guidance Centre both internally and externally to students and parents.
The Professional Guidance Centre (PGC) at Cheltenham Ladies’ College is a team of specialist Careers and Higher Education guidance advisers and counsellors. The team supports each student by developing and implementing an effective strategy of guidance that enables them to make well-informed decisions about their Higher Education and Career opportunities.
The successful applicant will lead the department, working closely with teaching departments, the Leadership Team (LT), the IB Diploma Programme Co-ordinator, Tutors, and Houseparents to inform and empower students as they make key choices about their futures.
The PGC aims to promote independence and nurture confidence in our students, helping them manage the decisions and processes they face and encouraging positivity about their futures. The PGC offers individualised support from LC1 (Year 7) to SFC2 (Year 13) and beyond, allowing students to benefit from our support even after leaving College.
We are proud of our students' destinations due to their breadth and globally-competitive nature. Our students are high achieving, ambitious, and globally-minded, applying to top universities worldwide. We emphasize empowered choice and genuine ambition rather than solely focusing on big-name universities.
This is an exciting role that will allow the post-holder to lead an ambitious department aiming to be one of the best guidance teams in the world.
Interviews are anticipated to be held in the week commencing 5 May 2025. Please note that applications will be considered as they are received, and the College reserves the right to appoint at any time in the process.
Cheltenham Ladies’ College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
