Job Title: Psychology Graduate Opportunity – SEN Teaching Assistant for Autism & Special Needs Location: Egham Job Type: Temporary / Agency Role (Full-time / Part-time options available) Start Date: January onwards Salary: From £95 per day and upwards About the Role: We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for Psychology Graduates to begin or expand their career in education by working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a large, dynamic school for children with Autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role provides invaluable experience for those looking to pursue careers in educational psychology, social work, or related fields. As a SEN Teaching Assistant focused on Autism and other special needs, you will support students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them to engage in their learning and personal development in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other special educational needs. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. Promote the emotional, social, and academic progress of students by facilitating learning activities and encouraging positive behavior. Work closely with class teachers and other professionals to deliver inclusive teaching methods. Support students with their personal care needs, including mobility or medical assistance (training provided). Observe and monitor students’ progress, keeping detailed records and providing feedback to teachers and parents. Contribute to a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes inclusion and respect. Requirements: A degree in Psychology (or a related field) is ideal but not a deal breaker. Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism or SEN is advantageous but not required. A passion for supporting children with additional learning needs and a strong desire to make a difference. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
