Ground risk and remediation | WSP
WSP’s Ground & Water team are involved with many key projects of regional and national significance. We are growing our world-class team to ensure we continue to deliver the high calibre of service and technical excellence that both we and our clients expect.
Your new role, what’s involved?
* Assist in site assessments, investigations, and feasibility studies, including liaising effectively and efficiently with clients, subcontractors, and WSP staff.
* Assess and supervise contractors' works and surveys.
* Collect and analyze data related to site contamination and hazardous materials.
* Project delivery both to programme and budget, including preparation of reports.
* Collaborate with internal and external project teams to develop and implement project plans.
* Proactively participate in safety protocols and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
* Travel – our projects are predominantly UK based, with a requirement to work away from home (the frequency of which is project dependent). Some international travel may be required.
* Business development - liaison with new and potential clients; both internal and external to WSP.
* Continuing personal development - Stay updated on industry best practices and environmental regulations.
YOUR TEAM
The Site Closure, Demolition & Remediation Team deliver work as part of the broader WSP Ground & Water team, which undertakes planning, procurement, and management of decommissioning, demolition, and remediation projects for industrial, energy, and development clients. Our projects are predominantly in the UK; however, the team is currently involved in an increasing number of international projects. The consultant/engineer will work within a small specialist team on a range of projects and will work closely with other WSP technical disciplines, including asbestos, structures, and other environmental teams.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
* A degree-level qualification in a relevant field or industry.
* Direct experience in the management of demolition and/or remediation contractors.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting software.
* Knowledge of UK CDM, Demolition code of practice, environmental regulations, and guidelines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel to project sites.
