Chelmer Medical Partnership are seeking an experienced medical secretary on a full or part-time basis, to join their well established team at their Humber Road Surgery. We are flexible with regard to days and hours for the right individual and this will be discussed on application. The role is responsible for providing essential secretarial duties to the wider team and t he main responsibilities will include: Providing a full secretarial service including the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, meeting minutes, memorandums, etc. Dealing with telephone and email enquiries. Managing referrals to secondary care. Audio typing of GP correspondence using the digital dictation system. Assisting GPs with negotiating care pathways. Handling queries regarding hospital appointments and treatments. The successful candidate will be able to work extra hours to support colleagues holiday and any sickness. About the Candidate We welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience: Audio and touch-typing skills. Strong administrative experience and good organisation skills. Sound knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent general IT skills including MS Office and experience of working with a clinical system. Experience in read-coding and work-flowing clinical documentation. Excellent communication skills. Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times. Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
