Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Head of Nursing to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, ensuring the well-being of patients, and supporting their recovery processes. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy and a commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services in a fast-paced environment.
The Head of Nursing will have responsibility for the professional leadership of the nursing workforce during day shifts. The post holder will ensure that the care provided by Nurses is delivered with compassion, embodies quality and fulfils the clinic purpose of delivering safe, effective and personal care to every patient, every time.
The post holder has specific responsibility for patient safety, patient experience and quality assurance and works closely with the Medical Director and Clinical Director to demonstrate highly visible leadership, working as part of a cohesive, multi professional senior team contributing to the overall strategic direction and leadership.
Responsibilities
Safe & Effective Patient Care
1. To lead a team that focuses on the patient journey by co-ordinating and directing effective nursing care, ensuring each patient receives the same excellence of care.
2. Interact with inpatients to ensure their needs are being met.
3. Ensuring adequate staffing levels for safe & effective nursing and provision of groups.
4. Responding to concerns and investigating when required.
5. To have a working knowledge of and participate in patient’s programme.
Quality Assurance
1. Assisting in the investigation of complaints & incidents.
2. Contributing to Clinical Governance.
3. Oversight of clinical policies.
4. Ensuring CQC clinical standards are met.
5. Lead on health and safety in the Clinical area.
6. Audit support.
7. Ensure the nursing team is compliant with Cardinal Clinic policies and procedures.
8. Ensuring that requests and instructions from internal and external colleagues are dealt with professionally and promptly.
9. Provide supervision for junior members of the team.
Leadership of Nursing Team
1. Recruitment of suitably skilled and qualified staff.
2. Have systems in place to ensure skilled staffing levels through staff rotas & training.
3. Undertaking appraisals of nursing team members.
4. Working with Training Co-ordinator to ensure staff are adequately trained.
5. Deliver training and developmental activities to the nursing team.
6. Performance management of nursing staff, developing their potential and addressing poor performance including sickness absence.
Corporate Responsibilities
1. Chair the Nurses Advisory Committee and Weekly Nurses Meetings.
2. Work with Medical Director and Clinical Director to ensure safe and effective working environment.
3. Contribute to continuing development to meet strategic aims.
4. Work with colleagues to promote within the wider community, building sustainable relationships with key partners.
5. Contribute to effective management of finances.
6. Attend clinical and managerial meetings as required.
You should also be:
1. Registered Mental Health Nurse (minimum).
2. Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
3. Documented evidence of CPD.
4. Evidence of teaching and assessing in Clinical Practice. Mentorship trained.

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
