Project Director – Civil Engineering
Salary: £80 - 100k + pkg

A Main Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking to appoint an experienced Project Director to expand their civil and infrastructure team.
The contractor is a well-known main contractor based in the Midlands with a current turnover of c£600m.
The successful applicant must have major project experience within civil engineering with a Main Contractor and ideally some pre-construction/tender experience.
Project Director Responsibilities:
1. Client Management.
2. Overseeing Pre Con programming.
3. Ensuring HS&E and quality standards, operating processes, company policies, and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented, and adhered to throughout.
4. Leading and managing the project team to ensure consistent delivery of the project.
5. Preparing comprehensive reports for monthly project reviews to demonstrate HS&E, quality, process, operational, and commercial performance and ensure that the project team receives adequate challenge, support, and guidance.
6. Ensuring that the project team is adequately resourced, led, and managed to achieve targets and maintain high levels of commitment & morale.
7. Ensuring that all staff understand their roles, responsibilities & performance expectations and operate competently.
8. Managing project set up and ensure it is adequately budgeted.
9. Ensuring the early involvement of appropriate subcontractors in the project planning process; and ensure that all subcontract orders/warranties and professional appointments are placed in line with the Contract and programme.
10. Developing & maintaining close relationships with customers, consultants & subcontractors to continuously improve customer experience.
11. Ensuring that appropriate management systems and tools are used throughout the project team.
12. Ensuring that the project team fully understands the design & specification requirements of their project; that subcontractors & suppliers are fully aware of these requirements and fulfill them; and that the Design Manager has been consulted about any potential issues.
Project Director experience required:
1. No.1 PM experience working on projects of up to £30m in value.
2. Major Civils / Infrastructure project experience.
3. Degree educated in Civil Engineering or similar.
4. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
