Senior Employers Agent / Senior Quantity Surveyor will deliver cost and commercial advice to a growing number of repeat clients in the housing and building sector across the Midlands.
Work can include both new build construction and refurbishment works.
Your employer will be an established and expanding Chartered Quantity Surveying & Project Management consultancy that is working on a range of projects for multiple public and private sector clients within a range of sectors.
The successful candidate must be willing to travel to sites across the UK as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Some of the Senior Employers Agent job duties will be to:
1. Taking the lead on a range of construction projects and supervising the work of the quantity surveyors, assistants and apprentices in your team and helping them to fulfil their potential.
2. Acting as the principal point of contact with the project client and the other consultants on the design team.
3. Working independently and taking responsibility for the successful delivery of employers services on all projects you and your team are working on.
4. Taking responsibility for allocated Key Client Accounts, building a relationship with the Key Client(s), and nurturing new work opportunities.
5. Training and assisting others, including the preparation and presentation of in-house CPD events.
6. Actively seeking new project opportunities and promoting the services of the practice at every opportunity including attendance and involvement at appropriate networking and marketing events.
7. Acting as Employer’s Agent on Design and Build projects
8. Managing multiple projects simultaneously and developing excellent time management strategies.
9. Treating all clients to exceptional level of service.
Desired Skills and Experience
10. Extensive experience in running your own projects as an Employers Agent/ Quantity Surveyor and / or Project Manager for either a Private Practice, Construction Company, or related organisation.
11. Must be experienced in Employers Agent role
12. Experience in managing a small team is essential
13. Development Agreement contracts experience is essential
14. Experience of working in the affordable housing sector is desirable
15. Experience of administering JCT contract is desirable
16. Proficiency in measurement, ideally using CostX Measurement Software
17. Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
19. Excellent organisational skills
20. High levels of attention to detail and commitment to quality
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
21. A BSc in Quantity Surveying Construction Cost Management or similar
22. MRICS status desired, but not essential
