Overview
Volunteers make an enormous contribution to our work at Change Grow Live.
There is currently an exciting opportunity to join our Duty Team as a volunteer here at York.
Last year, over 1400 volunteers donated over a quarter of a million hours of their time to our organisation.
Would you like to join our growing team of volunteers and make a real difference?
Responsibilities
The role will put you front and centre in service provision as the face of CGL in reception, supporting our duty worker. This gives you the opportunity to be the first face that greets someone when they take the step of coming into service and asking for help.
This is a privileged role that will give you insight into working in drug and alcohol services and firsthand experience of helping those who reach out for support.
You will need a people-focused heart, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach—treating each person as they need to be treated by seeing them, hearing them, and tailoring your response accordingly.
Do you have the heart? If you do, then we'd love to see your application.
PLEASE NOTE:
* *You must be available for interview on Monday 24 February.
* *If successful, you must be available for training on Tuesday 11 March & Tuesday 18 March (9:30 am - 3:00 pm).
Volunteering at Change Grow Live
* Volunteers contribute to Change Grow Live in a variety of ways. From Admin Volunteers to Service User Reps, from Peer Mentors to Healthcare Support Volunteers, from Independent Visitors to Community Mentors, each volunteer brings a unique set of skills and talents. We are incredibly grateful for all that volunteers do to support our service users.
* If there isn’t a specific volunteering role listed for the service in your area, or you have a skill you would like to donate to us, you can use this listing to express your interest.
* Most of our volunteer opportunities don’t need any special qualifications. We’ll ensure you get all the training and support you need. All we ask is that you're kind, open-minded, and passionate about supporting people.
* Everyone is welcome at Change Grow Live. As a volunteer, you will be treated with respect and accepted for who you are. You don’t need to have personal experience of drug and alcohol recovery to get involved.
