Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, knowledgeable and trustworthy staff nurse to join our lovely team here at Millom Community Hospital. The post is 37.5 Hrs permanent position working as an integrated staff nurse between the 9 bedded in-patient unit and the District nursing Team. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be expected top take charge of the in patient unit, caring for End of life patients and to managing the rehabilitation of patients stepped down from the acute with the aim of discharging patients back to their own home. There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will rotate between the ward and the district nursing team. Within the district team the staff nurse will carry out clinical skills such as wound care, catheter care, assessments and mush more but this will be discussed along with training opportunities on completion of the interview process. About us We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
