Temporary Purchase Ledger Assistant (urgent!)
Financial Accountant - Falmouth / Hybrid - £50-55,000 Neg DOE + Bonus + Exceptional benefits
We’ve agreed with our client to title this opportunity Financial Accountant, but the role will definitely call for a candidate with strong technical accounting and statutory reporting skills. This is a brand new role that will work closely with the Financial Controller with a view to hopefully taking over that role in the not-too-distant future. The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and this employer promotes a hybrid working arrangement with up to two days per week operated remotely.
This will be a pivotal role that works as part of a small (but quickly growing), and experienced team. Supported by a super-friendly FC, the role will feature a broad range of responsibilities with a key focus on preparing financial reports, multiple account reconciliations (5 legal entities), AP/AR management, and annual audit preparation. Other key responsibilities include:
1. Preparation of cost projections
2. Project accounting and budgeting
3. Assist with statutory accounting and reporting
4. Supporting the FC and CFO with month-end procedures, ensuring accurate account reconciliations and insightful management reports
5. Play a key role in preparing financial forecasts and business plans
6. Production of monthly and ad-hoc financial statements
7. Assist with preparing financial reports for group companies
8. VAT reporting
9. Costing and pricing analysis
10. Cash flow forecasting
11. Streamline processes and implement new initiatives
We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and down-to-earth Financial Accountant. A professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), the successful candidate could potentially join the business directly from accountancy practice, or from another commercial business (ideally services, manufacturing, or engineering based). You’ll require good exposure to the preparation of financial and management reports, up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls, and most certainly a natural leadership style. It’s a big job, but a rewarding one, and well suited to a driven individual who cares about their colleagues as much as their clients.
The rewards here are significant. Not only is there potential for the role to rapidly develop to FC, but the company also offers fantastic benefits: a generous salary, a very lucrative bonus scheme (up to 20%), enhanced pension, life insurance, and an EV scheme, to name a few.
