The opportunity To inspire and empower communities across Northern England through Ocean Literacy and support them to take action to protect their marine natural heritage. Promote future engagement with our work by recruiting volunteers around Northern England through collaboration with the Volunteer and Citizen Science Team. Implement the One Ocean Roadshow project in Northern England, ensuring all aims and outputs are delivered to a consistently high quality, and offer accessibility to a wide range of participants. Establish and facilitate a Community Ocean Literacy ‘One Ocean’ Focus GroupEncourage future engagement with our wider programmes, projects and workstreams in Northern England, including contributing to objectives on learning and community engagement and citizen science delivery. Work closely with internal teams to ensure engagement is clearly linked to policy outcomes and to provide best practice EDI approaches and resource development, e.g., the Communications Team; Volunteer and Citizen Science Team, Digital Team and Funding Team. The person specification We are looking for you to deliver with confidence and give factually correct and engaging sessions about the marine environment and the pressures that face it so you'll need a working knowledge of a broad range of marine issues that impact marine protected sites, such as water quality, pollution, ocean protection, ocean health. Applied knowledge of assessing and selecting community engagement approaches and evidence of how you’ve developed and delivered them. Evidence of your portfolio of resources and promotional materials that you have produced to time and within budget. You'll be a thoughtful and adaptable communicator who embraces the challenge of creating resources and sessions that are inclusive and accessible. Creative and imaginative and enjoys keeping pace with fresh approaches to the design and delivery of events, materials and activities. Delivers work on time, is highly organized and conscious of needing to work within budget.
