Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse/ Senior Operating Department Practitioner
This is an exciting opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic senior practitioners who have the ability to positively lead a team. Applicants will need to demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and an excellent attendance record. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You must have a 1st level qualification as a registered nurse or ODP. A teaching qualification and leadership experience are required. Experience within the Anaesthetic and Recovery role, including Maternity services, is essential. A degree level or working towards one is desirable. This post is subject to DBS (Police Bureau) Enhanced Disclosure.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To provide the highest standard of holistic care for patients through the utilization of enhanced clinical skills and advice in the assessment and management of patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
2. To contribute to the delivery and development of the service through effective evidence-based practice in line with national standards for clinical practice.
3. To be accountable for the planning and delivery of all aspects of patient care in relation to the area of practice.
4. To continuously improve clinical care standards in line with the clinical governance framework.
5. To work as a member of a clinical team in the provision of care and knowledge.
6. To provide clinical advice and support to clinical staff within GHNT on the management and care of patients.
7. To communicate effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients, carers, and the public.
8. To act as a resource and role model for the profession at all times.
9. To provide education and training to clinical staff and internal/external agencies.

Job Responsibilities
1. Support the provision of clinical knowledge and advice to other nursing staff, the wider multi-professional team, allied health professionals, patients, and their families/carers.
2. Support the provision of education and training for nursing and allied health professionals; including health promotion.
3. Communicate with medical staff and other health professionals regarding patient conditions and clinical care plans.
4. Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, and carers, explaining medical conditions, progress, and investigations.
5. Actively participate in professional forums including departmental meetings and multi-professional meetings.

Qualifications
* RGN/ODP with current registration with the NMC/HCPC.
* Degree level or equivalent, or working towards a degree.
