To act as a Deputy Designated Nurse for the ICB, working with the Associate Director for Nursing & Quality (Safeguarding) & Designated Nurses; other Deputy Designated Nurses in HWICB. To deputise for the Designated Nurse, in regard to membership of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Partnerships and Adult Boards and committees as required. To produce and present high quality, accurate reports to boards, committees and Governing Body meetings of the ICB as required, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Deliver formal presentations as requested. Serve on designated Herefordshire Safeguarding Childrens Partnership (HSCB), Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP), Herefordshire Safeguarding Adults Board (HSAB) and Worcestershire Safeguarding Adults Board (WSAB), and sub-groups/task and finish groups ensuring that the Designated Nurse function and/or health organisations are represented on the groups of the HSCP/WSCP/HSAB/WSAB, the local Safeguarding NHS Leads meeting and any other panels/groups as nominated. Provide safeguarding health advice on policy and individual cases to statutory and voluntary agencies including the Police, Childrens Social Care and Adult Social Care. In conjunction with the Designated Nurse, assist and provide safeguarding clinical supervision for professionals employed as Safeguarding/ Named Nurses in the health trusts, (and receive support with individual cases to ensure safe practice within their role). To assist and where delegated by the Associate Director for Nursing & Quality (Safeguarding) & Designated Nurse, to lead in implementing national guidelines and recommendations in relation to safeguarding children and adults in accordance with local HSCP/WSCP/HSAB and WSAB procedures to promote good practice. The post holder will ensure that effective communication and liaison takes place within their service, ICBs, and Health Trusts as a whole in relation to the safeguarding function. The post holder will work in collaboration with partner agencies across the ICS including the Police and the Local Authorities to meet their responsibilities to safeguard and protect children, young people and adults. Be a source of advice and support to HWICB and Health Trusts Safeguarding Committees across the health economy. To assist and where delegated by the Associate Director for Nursing & Quality (Safeguarding) & Designated Nurses, the post holder will attend relevant Position of Trust meetings. To provide expert knowledge and information to support the organisations safeguarding lead to inform the process, advising on relevant information and required actions for Health Trust, Primary Care or individual professionals to undertake. The Deputy Designated Nurse will advise and support health managers of provider organisations in the close monitoring of the quality of records in relation to children and adult safeguarding across the health economy and report to managers areas of concern and co-operate with the clinical governance agenda within the individual organisations. The post holder will assist HWICB where appropriate in the collection of relevant information and activity data with regard to safeguarding children, young people and adults. The post holder will demonstrate a high degree of skills in both negotiation and liaison across health and partner agencies. The post holder will work with HWICB and Safeguarding Children Partnerships, Safeguarding Adult Boards, other Health Representatives, and other relevant agencies.
