The Role
The role of Social Media Executive is an entry-level position in our Planning Department. Reporting into the Associate Strategy Director, you will work alongside other members of the team on a range of projects and accounts within our portfolio.
In this role you’ll assist in research to uncover and investigate the right opportunities for our strategic and creative output. Working alongside other team members and departments, you’ll be accountable for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of work across a range of clients, as well as being one of their main points of contact - managing the calendars and communities, plus supporting the management of third-party relationships, such as influencer gifting/contracting. Acting as a source of knowledge and on-the-ground insight for your clients, you’ll be across communications to provide timely updates and meet deadlines. Charting the impact of your work out in the world, you’ll collect and read data in order to inform and build the ongoing performance and advancement of strategies.
This role offers you an exciting opportunity to get to grips with working in an agency and learn a broad range of skills from day one, including strategy, planning, client liaison and stakeholder management. You’ll spend time learning client-facing skills, as well as remaining in close contact with other departments and leaders to gain exposure to the different specialisms from creative and strategy to paid media, influencer and production. As a varied role, this position will provide you with a foundational understanding of social media marketing, how businesses operate, and what makes our clients tick.
Travel is occasionally required for client visits, new business presentations, planning, brief taking, or attending shoots. We have a flexible hybrid working policy, with time spent in the office (Tues-Thurs) or working from home (Mon & Fri).
Key Responsibilities include
1. Research: To assist in research for projects and briefs. Looking into the different trends and behaviours across culture, consumers, and competitors to help uncover the right creative and strategic opportunity.
2. Creative Strategy Delivery: Supporting in the collation of research to inform and shape the creative output and bring the work to life. Accountable for the smooth delivery of tasks and projects across a variety of clients. Ensuring all work delivered is on brief, to a high quality and within timelines, including the management of organic calendars and communities, as well as third-party relationships.
3. Influencer/Creator Identification: Helping to identify relevant influencers/creators using both manual searching and search software. Learning how to communicate with influencers and their management to foster genuine relationships, negotiate partnerships, deliver feedback and amends leading to high-quality deliverables. Sharing and updating internal teams and clients on progress and timelines.
4. Client liaison and servicing: To participate in building client relationships and offer support across different departments. From handling email communications and attending calls, to note taking and providing an organised service. Becoming an expert in your client brands to help sell in your thinking and ideas - building relationships and becoming a knowledgeable advisor.
5. Reporting and analysis: Accountable for the collection of data as well as the construction of reports inclusive of both qualitative and quantitative learnings. From compiling data into client OKR sheets to actively tracking performance to help uncover not just how we’re performing but why the results are the way they are.
